10 Tips to Relieve Allergy Symptoms
Here is a list of some tips to help relieve those pesky allergy symptoms.
Take a probiotic. Eighty percent of your immune function takes place in the gut. Keeping it healthy is a key factor in reducing allergy risk. A recent study even showed that women who take probiotics on a regular basis during pregnancy can reduce their child’s risk of developing allergies!

Schedule outdoor workouts for dusk. Pollen and other allergy causing substances are at their worst in the morning. Going for that run in the evening when the counts are lower and it has cooled down can significantly decrease exposure to allergens.

Make a few habit changes.  A few new habits that can improve your allergy symptoms include washing bedding weekly in hot water, showering and changing clothes when returning from the outdoors, and wearing sunglasses. All of these help to limit exposure to certain allergens.

Take natural supplements. Several supplements and herbs have been shown to help with allergies. Try spirulina, fish oil, apple cider vinegar, butterbur, or turmeric.
Use a saline rinse method. Clearing out the nasal passages can greatly improve sinus symptoms. You can use a Neti Pot, a saline rinse, or saline nasal spray. Just be sure to use distilled water with the rinse or Neti Pot as tap water can irritate nasal passages. I use my Neti Pot in the shower. The irrigation mixed with the steam always clears out my sinuses and feels amazing.

Increase your fluids.
Drinking more water, tea, or other water-based beverages can help to thin mucus. Eating broth soups can offer the same benefit also!

Change up your diet.
Choosing chicken over beef has been linked to decreased allergy symptoms. Also, including more fresh fruits, veggies, and nuts (especially grapes, apples, oranges, and tomatoes) into your diet can improve your symptoms.

Try out some new filters.
No, I don't mean on Instagram.  Regularly changing your car’s cabin filter, utilizing high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters in your home, and installing a dehumidifier can help to clear the indoor air of allergy causing agents.

Schedule an acupuncture.
A few studies have shown that acupuncture can improve your allergies.

Forget the local raw honey
. There has been some talk that consuming local raw honey can improve your allergy symptoms. However, this is proving to be nothing more than an old wives’ tale. The pollen used by bees and is in local honey typically isn’t the same kind of allergy-causing pollen. Not to mention, there isn’t enough in the raw honey to actually boost your immunity. And since it is unprocessed, it could also include mold spores or bacteria which can increase allergy symptoms. Processed honey can, however, help to improve cough symptoms.
